About

As a Certified Specialist of Wine and member of the Society of Wine Educators, I have been a student of, and intrigued with, wine for many years.   I am a retired Navy Reserve Commander, and during my active duty time I was fortunate to sample wines from all over the world – from Europe to the Middle East and throughout the Americas.   Now semi-retired from operational leadership roles in the manufacturing and energy industries, my wife and I spend months every year traveling the country, visiting wineries and sampling barbecue joints.  When not traveling, I teach management classes at Cal State University – Chico and serve as the First Trombonist for the Susanville Symphony (www.susanvillesymphony.com).  I hope you enjoy the blog, and I welcome your feedback.
